Aaron went to the Logan temple on Friday, December 9 to receive his own endowment of blessings. It was snowy and cold outside, but warm and peaceful inside the temple. It was a special occasion and he appreciated those who were able to come and be with him there. Picture is of Aaron with Dad and Mom when we got home from the temple.
On Sunday, the 11th, he spoke in Sacrament Meeting. He spoke about increasing our testimonies of Christ. He used the scripture found in James 1:5-6, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
Aaron has been very excited to get on his way, and was very appreciative of all the friends and family that came to hear him speak and that came to say good-bye. After church, we had lunch at our house, and there was standing room only. We were all overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and care towards Aaron and all of us. We have loved having all of you in our home.
Despite the blustery weather, we headed to Provo on Wednesday morning, and stopped to say good bye to one more aunt and cousin, then went on to Chuck-a-rama for lunch. It was obvious that he was a new missionary, being in a suit and having a missionary haircut, coming in with his casually dressed family. The lady at the register immediately asked where he was going on his mission, and said that missionaries eat free! We had a few extra minutes after lunch, so we drove past the house we lived in when Aaron was born. Everyone was a little somber, and there wasn’t much conversation as we drove up to the parking lot by this field across from the MTC. We spent a few minutes for pictures and hugs. It was cold though and snowing a little, so we weren’t outside for long. (The pictures have the MTC in the background.)
